Kindness and Parking Garage Wisdom

“You are not here merely to make a living.  You are here in order to enable the world to live more amply, with greater vision, with a finer spirit of hope and achievement.  You are here to enrich the world, and you impoverish yourself if you forget the errand.”
~ Woodrow Wilson

In the midst of a busy week, I was exiting a parking garage and stopped to pay the attendant.  I was a little flustered as I tried to find the cash in my purse and told her that I was a bit crazed.  She looked at me and said, “Just relax – there is no reason to go crazy.”  She then shared that she was turning 70 in a couple of days, but that she was relaxed and just taking life as it came.  I laughed and thanked her, and drove on, amazed at how random encounters can lift our spirits.
