“A single act of kindness throws out
roots in all directions, and the roots spring up and make new trees.”
~ Amelia Earhart
On a recent
evening, one of my children and I were driving through the main street of our
community, a small town. As we drove by
our fire station, we saw one of the firefighters sitting outside. A mother and her toddler son walked by and
stopped to chat with the firefighter. He
picked up the little boy in that way that children love to be lifted. They all smiled and so did we. And I was reminded of something I read years
ago – that even those who merely observe a kindness are positively
impacted. In fact, seeing an act of
kindness fills those who witness it with peace and thankfulness.
