This morning,
a friend of mine shared that her husband had taken their daughter to the hospital last night because
of a minor stomach issue. I asked her why he
had not gone to the urgent care center that is about a block from their
house. "That is what I told him
when he got home!" she said. She
went on to tell me that her husband had been none too pleased when she brought
it up after he had come back home with his daughter. Her husband questioned the point of her commenting
after he had gotten the little girl treated.
Even though I shared my friend's reaction to her husband's choice, I had
to agree with her husband.
And it got me
thinking... How often do we make a
comment that is no longer relevant? The
kind of comment that only seems to say, "I'm right" or "I could
have done it better." What if we
took a moment to be kind instead of getting in the last word?
