― Henry David Thoreau
Recently, I
received a beautiful invitation:
"Invite yourself into the present moment." I have read and heard many things about the
importance of being in the present moment, but I had never heard it put that
way. It is a gentle way of coaxing
ourselves into the here and now -- not in the troubles of the past or the
worries of the present or future. Nearly
always, I find that truly being in the present -- even if for just a few
minutes -- is much more enjoyable that ruminating about worries. And there is great kindness in doing that for
ourselves.
