"Do not neglect to show hospitality
to strangers, for by so doing some people have entertained angels without
knowing it."
~ Hebrews 13:2
An older
woman I know works in the evenings as a housekeeper. On her way to work, one of her tires blew out
on a busy street. She pulled over to the
side as best she could and called her son, who said he would get there as soon
as he could, but he needed to pick up his daughter from daycare. The woman sat and waited in her car. A gentleman, who seemed to be on his way home
from work, stopped and asked her what was wrong. She speaks very little English and he spoke
little Spanish, but she pointed and he understood. After asking her if she had a spare, he
rolled up his sleeves and changed her tire.
The woman was so grateful, but all she could do was put her hands
together in thanks and point to heaven.
I am sure the Good Samaritan understood.
