―Ann Hood
When I think
of the kindness that I would like children -- my children, all children -- to
receive at school, I usually think of the teachers. But there are many other people at school who
on a daily basis extend kindness to the children. The other day, one of my children was having
a rough day. She was trying hard to hold
in her emotions, but the wise woman who works at the school office saw through
my daughter's attempts at bravery and gave her the hug that she desperately
needed. It definitely takes a village to
raise children and, in the best villages, there is lots of kindness to go
around.
