― Blaise Pascal
The other day,
I was rushing to pick up one of my children from an after-school activity, but
unusually heavy traffic made me late. I
called the woman who runs the after-school program to ask her what would happen
to my son if I did not make it on time.
"Don't worry," she said, "I'll take him to the
office." And she added, "Don't
stress." Her kind response lifted a
weight off my shoulders. When I arrived
at the school, she had not taken my son to the office yet and explained that
she was still picking up. It amazes me
how a little kindness can make another person feel so much better.
