~ Willie Stargell
Sometimes,
you end up not needing the favor or the help, but you do appreciate the offer.
A few weeks
back, I was focused on a home project that I did not know how to handle or even where to
begin. I mentioned it to a friend and
she immediately offered to come over and help me with it. We haven't set a date yet, but I feel much
better knowing that I can count on her. Her
offer has already helped me.
More
recently, a friend asked me if I wanted to have lunch on my late father's
birthday, so that we could reminisce about him.
I couldn't meet her that day, but it meant the world to me that she
thought of it.
Reaching out
to someone and reminding that person of our friendship can sometimes be just
what that person needs -- and there is great kindness in that.
