The Kindness of a Lesson

“When you get older, you learn certain life lessons.  You apply that wisdom, and suddenly you say, ‘Hey, I’ve got a new lease on this thing.  So let’s go.’”
~ Robert Redford

One of my dearest friends is a very special person who lives intentionally – she gets done what she wants to do.  She applies this to all aspects of her life, including her children’s education, family trips and home projects.  She insists on scheduling the important things in life – including outings with friends – because “otherwise they don’t happen,” she says.  Of course, she is right.  The other day, I ran into a friend whose birthday is coming up.  I told her that we needed to schedule lunch because otherwise it wouldn’t happen.  As the words tumbled out of my mouth, I realized that I was channeling my intentional friend!  And I greatly appreciated her lesson.
