“It’s not what you look at that matters,
it’s what you see.”
~ Henry David Thoreau
I am blessed
with the friendship of several older women, who frequently share wonderful
pearls of wisdom with me. On a recent
Sunday morning, I shared with them that I was trying to keep my children on
task – getting to church – while they were asking about a number of different
things that needed to happen this week.
One of my wise friends said, “What I hear is children being responsible.” And in an instant, I realized that yes, it is
important to keep my children on task, but it is also important to acknowledge
when they are trying to be responsible.
