~ Deborah Day
I don't think
gentleness can be overrated. I have been
thinking about it a lot lately and wondering how I can be more gentle. The other day, I woke up and consciously
decided to focus on being gentle toward others.
I did not get as far as I would have liked, but I believe the effort was
worth it. What did gentle look
like? For me, gentleness involves
patience and a certain softness that sometimes may fly in the face of the edge
and defensive sharpness that we think we need to get through. And it also involves a generosity of thought
and spirit that gives others the benefit of the doubt.
