The Kindness of Wisdom Shared

My grandmother used to say that the devil knows more because of his age than because he is the devil.  This is an adage in Spanish that does not translate particularly well, but you get the picture.

Last weekend, I had the pleasure of a conversation with a woman in her 70s.  She was in the mood to talk, which was nice, and she shared various lessons that she has learned on her life journey.  One of the things she said to me was, "You overcome, you survive... We laugh."  She was talking about how her friends and she handle life's challenges.  She said that it has gotten to the point where they laugh at almost everything that happens to them.  That is a life lesson worth learning.
