"I just sort of try to be a good
person; try to write music that lifts people and makes me feel good to sing."
~ Carole King
A few months
ago, I saw Beautiful: The Carole King
Musical when I was in another city on business. A colleague invited me as part of a women's
event. I loved the show because as the
promotional materials accurately claim, Carole King wrote "the
soundtrack to a generation." Her
songs immediately took me back to certain moments, a lifetime ago that the
music brought much closer.
I somehow
missed that the musical was playing in the county just north of where I live,
but my mother shared that she and a friend were going to see it. I told her how much I would love to see the
show again. Unfortunately, my mother was
going on the next-to-last day and there was no way I could go. But after they went to the show, I found a
CD with the musical soundtrack on my doorstep.
Thanks, Mom.
