Kindness in a Parking Lot

“We ought to be vigilantes for kindness and consideration.”
~ Letitia Baldrige

On a recent afternoon, I parked diagonally in a strip mall to run inside a shop.  The car parked to my right was very close to the painted line between us, so I parked closer to the line on my left than I normally would have, which was easier as the space to my left was empty.  As I was beginning to get out of my car, another car pulled into the empty space on my left.  When he saw that I would have trouble exiting my car if he parked there, the driver backed out of the space and parked elsewhere – a bit farther away.  I was very surprised and grateful.
