Kindness and Thanking Those Who Matter

"None of us got to where we are alone.  Whether the assistance we received was obvious or subtle, acknowledging someone's help is a big part of understanding the importance of saying thank you."
~ Harvey Mackay

In yesterday's post, I wrote about thanking a friend for a kindness that he shared more than 30 years ago.  As if we needed further proof of kindness' reach, there was a story in the news yesterday about a man who sent his high school teacher $10,000 in appreciation for the impact that she had on him -- nearly 40 years before!

The former teacher who received the generous gift said that their story has inspired hundreds to reach out to teachers, mentors and others who had an impact on them.
