One of my
dearest mom friends celebrated her daughter's 15th birthday today. My friend talked about what that day had been
like 15 years ago. She and her husband
did not expect the baby to arrive as there were a few weeks left to go, but the
baby arrived a little early. My friend
shared how kind a nurse had been to her, especially as she was given the dreaded
epidural shot. The nurse told my friend
to look into her eyes and guided her through with great calm and kindness. My friend has not forgotten the nurse and her
kindness at such a critical time, and I am pretty certain that she never will.
