“Remember that there is no such thing as a small
act of kindness. Every act creates a
ripple with no logical end.”
~ Scott Adams
At a recent
school Mass, the priest talked about the importance of showing the face of God
to each other. She pointed out that one
of the acolytes had remembered that the deacon had hurt his foot and so went to
the altar instead of to the middle of the aisle, so that the deacon did not
have to walk so far. As it turned out,
the deacon’s foot had healed and he is now able to walk to where he normally
reads the Gospel. The priest mentioned
the acolyte’s name and commended him for being the face of God to another. What the priest did not know was that the
acolyte had been having a not-so-great day and yet he had been able to think of
someone else. I have no doubt that the
priest’s recognizing this boy’s kindness did a lot to improve the boy’s day.
