― Dorothy Kilgallen
I have a
friend who has a very gracious way of saying no. When she can't do something, she always says
no kindly. For example, if she is
invited somewhere, but cannot go, she shares how much she would like to and
that she is sorry that she cannot go.
And then she generally proposes another plan. I don't think I have ever heard her say no
without offering an alternative. This
kindness in dealing with friends and invitations is greatly appreciated, and it
is no surprise that she has many wonderful relationships and a busy social
calendar.
