On this Fathers’ Day, a thank you to all fathers – those with
us and those who have passed, those who were our fathers and those who acted as
fathers – for their many kindnesses.

Last week, I attended the wake and funeral for the father
of a childhood friend. His family members
mourned him and many others mourned with them in a special way. This gentleman was part of our childhoods and
it felt as though a little bit of us died with him. During a beautiful eulogy, his son talked
about how “it all goes by so fast.”
