"We shall never know all the good that a simple smile can do."
~ St. Teresa of Calcutta
On a recent Saturday evening, I attended a Mass in a city far from home. I found myself missing my children. At one point during the Mass, people join hands to pray. Nearly always, I join hands only with family members or friends who are with me. But this time, I felt a little hand grab mine. An adorable little girl, about seven or eight years old with black curly hair and a huge smile, held my hand to pray. She had been sitting several feet away with her father and sister but they moved closer so that we could all hold hands. She smiled up at me and I smiled back, and I immediately felt my spirits lift.
