―Ralph Waldo Emerson
At a store today,
I stood in a long checkout line. One of
the cashiers, who seemed relatively new, was trying to figure out the price of
an item for a customer. The cashier
asked the employee working next to her what she should do; the second woman told
her to go and find another one of the same item. Apologetically, the cashier asked the
customer if she would mind waiting while she ran to find another one of the
item. "Not at all," the
customer said. "I am not in a
rush." Relieved and appreciative,
the cashier went off to get the price.
