We have two
friends, a married couple, who are truly amazing people. Although they live elsewhere, they have a
home in our community and visit frequently.
Today, my husband received a call from them asking for assistance with
translation. At a bookstore, they saw a man
in a wheelchair with what looked like terrible gangrene on his legs. The man spoke Spanish, but no English, so
they could not understand him. Using my
husband as a translator, they learned that the man was in severe pain, homeless
and with no family. They had the man
transported to a hospital, so that he could receive the necessary medical
care. And they are now trying to find
the man a place to stay when he is discharged.
