― Aesop
The other day as I was exiting a parking garage, I was
having trouble negotiating a narrow turn with cars coming in the opposite
direction. As I patiently waited for a
break in the traffic, a security guard from the building came over. He stopped the oncoming traffic, so that I
could make the turn. As he walked away,
I rolled down my window to thank him. We
both smiled.
Once again, I was reminded how even the smallest kindness
gladdens the heart ― and lingers.
