Years ago,
one of my best friends from high school, who got married and had children
before I did, said something that sticks with me all these years later. Talking about raising children, she said,
"You create their memories." I
have thought about this often when trying to get something right and also at
times that I am hoping my children will forget.
But the statement -- advice, really, in four words -- is always a good
reminder.
