The Kindness of Calling... Just to Say Hello

The other day, a friend of mine called to say hello.  We used to see each other frequently when our children were in the same school.  But now weeks and probably months go by and we don't see each other.  She wanted to let me know that she thinks of me often.  The call came at a perfect time as these calls tend to do, and I was delighted that she had reached out.
