Every so often, I make work-related presentations to groups. Recently, I traveled to another city to speak on a panel. As I sat on the dais looking out at the audience, I was reminded of how nice it is when people in the audience make eye contact and smile. Whether you know the person or not, there is a friendliness that is immediately transmitted and that is especially appreciated when you are "on."
