They manage
to do it every time -- and yet, I am amazed every time. We have two friends, a married couple, who
live out of state, but have a home in our community. They are very fond of our children and are
incredibly thoughtful. For each child's
birthday, they manage to buy a gift, wrap the gift and get it in the mail way
ahead of the birthday. A package arrived
this week -- more than a week ahead of the birthday in question. There are so many steps involved in making it
all happen and they are busy professionals, and yet they manage to do it. They also put a note on the package that it
was not to be opened until the actual birthday.
And so the package sits... and every time I look at it, I am reminded of
our friends' kindness.
