The Kindness of Youth

At a conference I recently attended, I found myself at the end of an evening reception sitting with a group of young woman, most, if not all, in their 20s.  The conversation turned to social media and I confessed my lack of knowledge on several social media fronts.  I took the opportunity to ask these young women all kinds of questions and they kindly responded with patience and even with delight at being able to explain things to me.  I learned quite a bit and felt that they introduced me to a whole new world of tweets and hashtags that offers information and ideas that I enjoy.  Their enthusiasm about my learning was an incredible gift.
