The Kindness of a Late-Night Airport Pickup

I recently returned from a business trip that involved two flights on one day followed by two the following day to return home.  My last flight got me in past midnight.  A friend of mine graciously offered to pick me up at the airport.  When I exited the airport terminal, her husband was walking toward me to help me with my bags.  And when I got into their car, they had stopped to get my family and me donuts.  I thanked them both profusely and they acted as if it was no big deal.  I greatly appreciated their kindness and thoughtfulness.
